  BCA Statement of faith

We, Bodyguard Christian Apologetics, affirm the faith once delivered to the saints (Jude 3). Our conscience is bound to the Word of God, and our allegiance is to Christ alone. This Statement of Faith is a declaration of fidelity to the eternal truths revealed in Holy Scripture.

Whilst mankind be in error in matters of faith, righteousness, and doctrine- the Word of God is never in error.

We lay it to your charge to test all faith matters against the Canon of Holy Scripture.

BCA Statement on the Use of "Godhead"

Why Bodyguard Christian Apologetics does not use the word 'Trinity'

We affirm with unwavering conviction the biblical revelation that there is one true God—YAHWEH—eternal, indivisible, and revealed in three distinct Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. This glorious truth of one divine essence shared eternally by three co-equal, inter-relational Persons stands as the bedrock of sound doctrine.

We deliberately employ the term "Godhead" in our teaching and writings because it is the precise English rendering found in Holy Scripture (Acts 17:29; Romans 1:20; Colossians 2:9), where it translates the Greek words denoting the divine nature, deity, and fullness of God's eternal being. "Godhead" faithfully conveys the undivided essence and deity of God as revealed in Scripture—particularly the truth- of Christ- that "...in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily" (Colossians 2:9)—while anchoring our confession directly to the inspired text. We do not use the term "Trinity" because it is an extra-biblical word, absent from the pages of Holy Scripture.

"It was around 1997, and I was still very new in my walk with Christ. One afternoon, a member of the Watchtower Society knocked on my door. He asked me about the word “Trinity”—whether I believed it was in the Bible. I remember answering honestly, “I don’t know.” He began to show me, through the Jehovah’s Witnesses’ New World Translation, that Jesus was not God but a created being.

I didn’t have the answers then, but God had already begun a deeper work in me. For the next three months, I found myself drawn into His Word—sometimes six to eight hours a day. It wasn’t just study; it was the Spirit of God opening my eyes, teaching me, and shaping my understanding of who He truly is.

When those same Jehovah’s Witnesses returned three months later, everything had changed. This time, I was ready—not because of my own strength, but because the Holy Spirit had given me clarity and conviction. For nearly twenty minutes, I spoke of the Deity of Jesus Christ and the nature of the Godhead—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I don’t recall them saying a single word in response. Their silence was striking, and I knew in that moment that God had equipped me to stand firm in the truth."

BCA defense of the deity of the Holy Spirit of God: The Holy Spirit

Though it has been employed historically to summarize the biblical doctrine of one God in three Persons, our ministry is committed to scriptural precision and fidelity to the preserved Word of God in the King James Bible. We choose to speak as the Scriptures speak, proving all things by the Bible alone (1 Thessalonians 5:21), and thus prefer the God-inspired term "Godhead" to describe the eternal divine nature shared by the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—one God forever praised.

  Sevenfold Affirmations of Our Faith

At Bodyguard Christian Apologetics, we confess seven unshakable affirmations—pillars forged in Scripture, sealed by the Spirit, and entrusted to the saints. These are not traditions of men, nor denominational preferences, but eternal truths revealed by God and preserved in His Word.

Each affirmation is a fortress of doctrine, a lamp of testimony, and a shield of defense. Together they form the sevenfold witness of our ministry:

  1. ONE WORD — The divine inspiration, preservation, and final authority of Holy Scripture.

  2. ONE GOD — YAHWEH, eternal and indivisible, revealed in Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

  3. ONE JESUS CHRIST — The eternal Son, fully God and fully man, crucified, risen, and exalted.

  4. ONE GOSPEL — Salvation by grace through faith in Christ alone, not of works.

  5. ONE CHURCH — The Body of Christ, redeemed and awaiting His glorious return, ceasing great tribulation.

  6. ONE APOSTLESHIP — The unique, completed witness of Christ’s apostles, sealed in the Canon.

  7. ONE RETURN — The visible, bodily coming of Jesus Christ after tribulation, to judge and reign.

We have placed an abbreviated version of our Sevenfold Affirmations of Faith as we continue to build this core section with additional context of the Bodyguard Christian Apologetics Sevenfold Affirmations.

  I.  The Word of God

"...It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."

Matthew 4:4

Bound to one Word- the Word of God.

 THE WORD OF GOD

We affirm the Canonical record of the 66 Books of Holy Scripture—39 in the Old Testament and 27 in the New—as the Holy inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. These Scriptures were written by men divinely moved by the Holy Spirit, and are therefore the very voice of God in written form.

We hold that Scripture alone is the supreme and final authority for faith, doctrine, and life. It is self-authenticating, sufficient, and unchanging—a sealed testimony that cannot be added to, subtracted from, or revised by tradition, ecclesiastical decree, or personal revelation.

In agreement with the Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy (1978), we declare:

“The authority of Scripture is a key issue for the Christian Church in this and every age… Recognition of the total truth and trustworthiness of Holy Scripture is essential to a full grasp and adequate confession of its authority.”

 — Preface, CSBI

We further affirm:

- That the Scriptures are to be received as the authoritative Word of God, not derived from any human source (Article I).

- That the Bible is the supreme written norm by which God binds the conscience, and that all other authorities are subordinate to it (Article II).

- That the whole of Scripture, down to the very words of the original manuscripts, was given by divine inspiration (Article VI).

Though John testifies that Jesus did many other things not recorded in Scripture (John 21:25), we reject any claim to additional canonical revelation. The canon is closed. The Word of God is a complete record.

Through these 66 books, the Holy Spirit draws, awakens, convicts, and saves. The Word is the sword of the Spirit, the lamp to our feet, and the anchor of truth in a world of deception.

Sevenfold Affirmations of Faith

    I. ONE WORD

We affirm the divine inspiration, preservation, and final authority of the 66 books of Holy Scripture. The Word of God is not the invention of man but the very breath of God, given by inspiration and preserved through the ages.

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” — 2 Timothy 3:16

The Word is pure (Proverbs 30:5), eternal (Psalm 119:89), and sufficient (2 Peter 1:3). It reveals God’s nature, man’s condition, and the only way of salvation. We reject all additions, subtractions, or distortions of Scripture, heeding the solemn warnings:

“Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it.” — Deuteronomy 4:2

“If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues… and if any man shall take away… God shall take away his part out of the book of life.” — Revelation 22:18–19

    II. ONE GOD

We affirm the one true and living God—YAHWEH—eternal, omnipotent, and indivisible in essence. He is the Creator, Sustainer, and Judge of all.

“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD.” — Deuteronomy 6:4 “I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me.” — Isaiah 45:5

God is revealed in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. These are not three gods, but one God—coequal, coeternal, and consubstantial. The Father sends, the Son redeems, and the Spirit indwells.

“I and my Father are one.” — John 10:30

“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” — 1 John 5:7

We reject modalism, polytheism, and all distortions of the triune nature of God. The Godhead is one Being in three Persons, glorified forever.

  III. ONE JESUS CHRIST

We affirm Jesus Christ as the eternal Son of God, fully divine and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, and ascended in glory.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” — John 1:1

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us.” — John 1:14

He is the express image of the invisible God (Colossians 1:15), the only Savior (Acts 4:12), and the Head of the Church (Ephesians 1:22–23). His deity is not diminished by His humanity, and His humanity is not compromised by His deity.

We reject all denials of His virgin birth, sinless life, substitutionary death, bodily resurrection, and divine nature. Jesus Christ is Lord.

  IV. ONE GOSPEL

We affirm the one true Gospel of grace: that Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3–4). Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone—not of works, merit, or religious performance.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.” — Ephesians 2:8

No man comes to the Son except the Father draw him (John 6:44), and no one can confess Jesus as Lord except by the Holy Ghost (1 Corinthians 12:3). The Gospel is the power of God unto salvation (Romans 1:16), and it must not be altered, diluted, or commercialized.

    V. ONE CHURCH

We affirm one holy Church, the Body of Christ, composed of all whom He has redeemed. The Church is not a building, denomination, or institution—it is the spiritual assembly of believers, united by one Spirit, one faith, and one baptism.

“There is one body, and one Spirit… One Lord, one faith, one baptism.” — Ephesians 4:4–5

In Christ, there is neither Jew nor Gentile, bond nor free, male nor female—all are one (Galatians 3:28). The Church is the Bride of Christ, called to endure tribulation, proclaim truth, and await His return.

We reject Christian Zionism, sectarianism, racial division, and ecclesiastical elitism. The true Church is defined by regeneration, not affiliation.

    VI. ONE APOSTLESHIP

We affirm that the law and the prophets were until John (Luke 16:16). Since then, the Kingdom of God is preached through the Gospel proclaimed by Christ’s apostles and testified by the completed Canon of Scripture.

We affirm that the apostolic office was unique, foundational, and non-transferable. The gifts confirming the Gospel—signs, wonders, and miracles—ceased with the last Apostle, John.

“Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.” — 2 Corinthians 12:12

Miracles remain at God’s sovereign discretion—not by human claim or manipulation. We reject modern apostolic titles, counterfeit signs, and extra-biblical revelation. The foundation has been laid; we build upon it with fidelity.

    VII. ONE RETURN

We affirm the visible, bodily return of Jesus Christ—the Day of the Lord. After great tribulation, the Bride of Christ, having endured the wrath of man and Satan, will be gathered to meet Him in the air.

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout… and the dead in Christ shall rise first.” — 1 Thessalonians 4:16

His coming unleashes the wrath of God, brings judgment upon the nations, and inaugurates the millennial kingdom. We align with the Historic Premillennial Pre-Wrath view, affirming that the Church will be present during tribulation but spared from divine wrath.

We reject escapist eschatology, date-setting, and speculative prophecy. Our hope is not in timelines but in the return of Christ.

WITHIN THE SEVENFOLD

Cessation of Apostolic Gifts

We affirm that the miraculous gifts given to Christ’s apostles were for the authentication and confirmation of the Gospel during its initial proclamation. These signs bore witness to the divine authority of the message and the messengers, establishing the foundation of the Church.

“Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.” — 2 Corinthians 12:12

These gifts ceased with the death of the last apostle, John. Their purpose was fulfilled: the Gospel was confirmed, the Canon of Scripture completed, and the foundation laid once for all.

“The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.” — Luke 16:16

Miracles remain at God’s sovereign discretion, but no man today bears apostolic authority or the authenticating signs of apostleship. The office of apostle was unique, non‑repeatable, and tied to direct eyewitnesses of the risen Christ.

We reject all claims of modern apostleship, counterfeit signs, and false wonders that seek to add to or rival the completed Word of God. The Spirit now works through the Scriptures and the Church, not through new apostolic offices or revelatory gifts, or prophets that portend to speak in the name of God to further additional Scriptural revelation.
