  Why defend the faith?

From Moses to the apostles, the Word of God has consistently warned against deception. The Law rejected false prophets, Christ Himself warned of wolves in sheep’s clothing, and Paul declared anathema upon any who preach another gospel. This unbroken witness testifies that defending the faith is not optional—it is commanded. To contend for the gospel is to stand in the line of those who have guarded truth, to obey God, to honor His Spirit, and to preserve the testimony of Jesus Christ.

  This is the calling

The Lord has set Watchmen on the Wall, compelled by the warnings of Ezekiel 13 and Ezekiel 33. In Ezekiel 13, false prophets are condemned for crying “Peace” when there is no peace, daubing the wall with untempered mortar and leaving the people exposed to ruin. In Ezekiel 33, the true watchman is commanded to sound the trumpet: if he warns and the people refuse, their blood is upon their own heads; but if he fails to warn, their blood is required at the watchman’s hand. This solemn charge binds me to vigilance, for silence would be disobedience, and negligence would bring guilt before the Lord.

To defend the faith is to guard the very words by which the Church lives. As our Lord declared, “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4). These words are life, and without them souls are starved by deception and deprived of the bread of heaven. My ministry is thus both burden and mercy: to expose the cracks where falsehood seeps in, to preserve the wall with tempered truth, and to ensure the flock is nourished by the living Word.

This is the mantle of Bodyguard Christian Apologetics—a watchman, chosen among who God has called, set on the wall for the defense of His Word and glorious Gospel. This is carried out through our missional directive: Exalt | Equip | Expose. We exalt the Lord Jesus Christ in all endeavors, equip the saints with sound doctrine and historic witness, and expose the snares of false teaching with bold conviction with love, endurance, and the faith that God will marvelously save souls through the preaching of His Word through this ministry.

INSTRUCTED TO DEFEND THE Word OF GOD

  • "Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ."

          — Jude 3–4

  • "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works."

         — 2 Timothy 3:16–17

  • "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them."

         — Isaiah 8:20

  • 1 Thessalonians 5:21–22 "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good."

          — 1 Thessalonians 5:21

  • "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

         — Hebrews 4:12

  • "Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers. For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake."

        — Titus 1:9–11
